This category caters to athletes with significant lower limb impairment and limited walking or running balance. As a result, they compete on a half-court, hitting the shuttlecock on only one side.
Nitesh’s dedication paid off. He started his competitive journey in 2016 with a bronze medal at the national championships in Faridabad. This was just the beginning. In 2017, he secured victory at the Irish Para-Badminton International, showcasing his talent on the international stage.
Climbing the Ladder of Success
Nitesh’s rise continued with a silver medal at the 2022 BWF Para Badminton World Championships. Interestingly, the person he defeated to reach the finals was his role model, Pramod Bhagat. This remarkable feat not only demonstrated Nitesh’s phenomenal skills but also marked a changing of the guard in Indian para-badminton.The 2023 Para Asian Games in Hangzhou further solidified Nitesh’s position as a force to be reckoned with.
