Great Britain has made a triumphant start to the Paris 2024 Olympics, amassing an impressive 20 medals so far.
The rowing team has been particularly successful, securing three medals including a silver in the women’s four, where Helen Glover narrowly missed out on a historic third gold. Mathilda Hodgkins-Byrne and Rebecca Wilde claimed bronze in the women’s double sculls, while the men’s four also secured a bronze medal.
Swimming, diving, and cycling have also contributed significantly to the medal tally. Tom Pidcock’s gold in the men’s cross-country mountain bike race and Nathan Hales’ victory in the men’s trap shooting final highlight the team’s breadth of talent.
With several more events still to come, Team GB is poised to add to their medal haul and make a strong bid for a place on the top of the medal table.
