Chennai: Tamil Nadu Buses to Become More Disabled-Friendly with New SOP

To improve accessibility for disabled passengers, Tamil Nadu’s state transport corporations have introduced a new standard operating procedure (SOP) for drivers and conductors of government buses.

Key Points of the New SOP:

1. Feedback Mechanism:
   • A system will be set up to collect feedback from disabled passengers.
   • This feedback will be used to guide drivers and conductors during their monthly training sessions.
2. Training and Sensitivity:
   • Drivers and conductors will receive training to be more sensitive to the needs of disabled passengers.

3. Regular SOP Updates:
   • The SOP will be regularly updated to stay relevant.
