Legendary Gymnast Leads Star-Studded Tour Across the United States
Eleven-time Olympic medalist Simone Biles is set to embark on a 30-city arena tour, aptly named the “Gold Over America Tour” (GOAT), in the fall of 2024. The tour, which promises to be a high-energy spectacle combining gymnastics with pop concert elements, will feature Biles alongside her Olympic gold medal-winning teammates Jade Carey, Jordan Chiles, and Hezly Rivera.
Joining the women’s team are U.S. Olympic team bronze medalists Paul Juda, Brody Malone, and Frederick Richard. Other notable gymnasts participating include Olympic alternate Joscelyn Roberson, Tokyo 2020 Olympians Shane Wiskus and Yul Molduaer, NCAA standout Trinity Thomas, and world medalists Ellie Black of Canada and Melanie de Jesus dos Santos of France.
The tour is being supervised by legendary UCLA gymnastics coach Valorie Kondos Field, who will bring her expertise to choreograph the show. “I’m so honored and excited to welcome these incredible and courageous athletes to the tour for an amazing and unforgettable journey,” says Biles. “This tour is not only about amazing performances, but connecting with communities and building up the confidence of the next generation of athletes. We can’t wait to take a victory lap around the U.S. and celebrate with all the fans this fall.”
Biles’ excitement is palpable, coming fresh off her stellar performance at the Paris 2024 Olympics. She clinched four gold medals – team, all-around, vault, and floor exercise – and a silver medal on the floor exercise. This haul brought her total Olympic medal count to an impressive 11.
The Gold Over America Tour 2024 will kick off on September 16 in Oceanside, California, and conclude on November 3 in Detroit, Michigan. This will be the second time the tour has crisscrossed the United States, having previously toured the country following the Tokyo 2020 Games in 2021.
A Look Back at Biles’ Olympic Journey
Simone Biles has become a household name in the world of gymnastics. Her journey to Olympic glory has been marked by exceptional talent, unwavering dedication, and a remarkable ability to overcome adversity.
At the Rio 2016 Olympics, Biles made history by becoming the first American woman to win five gold medals in gymnastics at a single Games. Her performances were nothing short of extraordinary, showcasing her incredible skill and athleticism.
However, Biles’ journey has not been without its challenges. In recent years, she has openly discussed her struggles with mental health, including a decision to withdraw from certain events at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics to prioritize her well-being. Her courage in addressing these issues has resonated with many and has helped to destigmatize mental health conversations.
The Impact of Biles’ Tour
The Gold Over America Tour 2024 is more than just a series of gymnastics performances. It is an opportunity for Biles and her fellow athletes to inspire the next generation of gymnasts and to connect with fans across the country.
By showcasing their incredible talents and sharing their stories, Biles and her teammates hope to encourage young people to pursue their dreams and to embrace the challenges that come their way. The tour also serves as a celebration of the sport of gymnastics and its ability to bring people together.
As Biles and her team prepare to hit the road, fans can expect a thrilling and unforgettable experience. With its combination of gymnastics, music, and entertainment, the Gold Over America Tour is sure to leave a lasting impression.
