Mutual Funds Show Renewed Interest in Adani, Invest Rs 4,200 Crore

dani Group’s Rising Appeal to Mutual Funds

A Shift in Sentiment

Despite initial skepticism from many asset management companies, the Adani Group has been steadily gaining traction among mutual fund investors. This surge in interest comes even after a significant increase in the stock prices of all listed Adani entities.

Consistent Net Buying

The net buying of Adani Group stocks by mutual funds has been consistently rising over the past few months. In August alone, funds invested over Rs 4,200 crore in these stocks. This represents a substantial increase from July, when net buying was around Rs 2,000 crore.

June and May saw even lower levels of mutual fund interest, with net buying totaling Rs 990 crore and Rs 880 crore, respectively. The trend suggests a growing confidence in the Adani Group among mutual fund investors.

Broad-Based Interest

The interest in Adani Group stocks is not confined to a few specific companies. In August, mutual funds were net buyers in eight of the group’s listed entities. Only ACC witnessed marginal selling.

Top Investments

Adani Energy Solutions and Ambuja Cement were the top investments for mutual funds in August, attracting Rs 1,541 crore and Rs 1,308 crore, respectively. The surge in Adani Energy Solutions was fueled by a $1 billion qualified institutional placement (QIP), while Ambuja Cement’s rise was driven by a Rs 4,250 crore block deal.

Conclusion

The growing interest in Adani Group stocks among mutual funds is a significant development. It suggests that investors are increasingly confident in the group’s long-term prospects. As the Adani Group continues to expand its operations and deliver strong financial performance, it is likely to remain an attractive investment option for mutual funds and other investors.
