2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift to get this key safety feature to tackle Tata Punch

The upcoming 2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift is set to raise the bar in terms of safety features as it prepares to compete with rivals like the Tata Punch, Hyundai Exter, and Hyundai Grand i10 Nios, all of which fall within a similar price range.

Maruti Suzuki India is gearing up for the launch of the fourth-generation Swift in the second week of May. This new iteration of the popular hatchback will introduce a crucial safety feature aimed at enhancing its competitiveness against its counterparts.

One notable addition to the 2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift will be the inclusion of six airbags as standard across all variants. This move is significant, considering that none of Maruti’s hatchbacks currently offer six airbags as standard. The inclusion of six airbags will complement existing safety features such as electronic stability control (ESC), anti-lock braking system (ABS) with electronic brakeforce distribution (EBD), and brake assist (BA), which already come as standard.

In terms of safety ratings, the Maruti Suzuki Swift previously received a modest rating at Global NCAP, with only one star awarded for both adult occupant protection and child occupant protection. In contrast, rivals like the Tata Punch boast a five-star safety rating. Additionally, both the Hyundai Exter and Hyundai Grand i10 Nios come equipped with six airbags as standard.

The addition of six airbags and other safety features to the 2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift will not only enhance its value proposition but also potentially improve its safety ratings in tests conducted by agencies like Bharat NCAP.

Apart from safety enhancements, the new Swift will also feature significant updates to its exterior and interior. Expect to see a redesigned front fascia with a new grille, LED headlamps, and taillamps, as well as new alloy wheels. Inside the cabin, updates will include a new touchscreen infotainment system, instrument cluster, climate control unit, and the addition of a 360-degree camera. Overall, the 2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift aims to offer a compelling package to buyers with its enhanced safety features, refreshed design, and updated interior technology.
