India’s Olympic Campaign Kicks Off
Shooting for Gold
India’s Olympic journey begins with a strong focus on shooting. The day starts with the mixed 10m air rifle team aiming to break India’s shooting medal drought. The duo of Ramita Jindal/Arjun Babuta and Elavenil Valarivan/Sandeep Singh will compete in the qualification round, with the finals scheduled later in the day.
Manu Bhaker and Rhythm Sangwan will also be in action in the women’s 10m air pistol, while Arjun Singh Cheema and Sarabjot Singh compete in the men’s event.
Hockey, Badminton, and More
Beyond shooting, India’s hopes rest on several other sports. The men’s hockey team, fresh off their Tokyo bronze, face a tough challenge against New Zealand. Badminton stars Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty, along with Lakshya Sen, will represent India in their respective events.
Tennis, table tennis, rowing, and boxing also see Indian participation, with athletes looking to make their mark on the world stage.
As the day unfolds, India will be eager to see how its athletes fare and whether they can set the tone for a successful Olympic campaign.
