India’s Archery Campaign Kicks Off at Paris 2024
Paris, July 25: India’s quest for archery glory at the Paris 2024 Olympics begins today with the ranking rounds. A full contingent of six archers, the largest since London 2012, will compete across all five events.
Led by veteran Deepika Kumari, who makes her fourth Olympic appearance, the Indian team will vie for top seedings that will be crucial for their medal hopes. The ranking round will determine the seeds for individual and team events, with the top four teams in each gender advancing directly to the quarterfinals.
The mixed team event is also up for grabs, with only the top 16 pairs progressing. India’s combination of top male and female scores will decide their position.
While Deepika aims for another successful Olympic campaign, Tarundeep Rai also returns for his fourth Games. Pravin Jadhav makes his second appearance, while Dhiraj Bommadevara, Bhajan Kaur, and Ankita Bhakat debut on the Olympic stage.
